Flights
It’s never been so easy to book flights. You simply need to be online and visit a popular web site known for offering flights or “cheap flights” like UK Net Guide. You simply select the airport you wish to fly from and your destination, the date you want to fly and then select a return date. The airlines that fly to you destination will be shown and then you simply click to check prices.
You can then book your flights with ease online. First make sure that the site you’re booking on is ATOL (Air Travel Organisers' Licensing) protected, in case the airline or company you book through goes bust. Booking flights is secure, you pay by credit or debit card and these days you even get an e-ticket straight into your email inbox so you don’t have to worry about your ticket arriving by post. It can also be cheaper to book a hotel at the same time as you may be offered a discount to book both at the same time.
Getting out of London by plane has never been quicker and simpler.
Did you know that London Stansted Airport is the third busiest airport in the UK, behind Heathrow and Gatwick? All three service the London market.
Each airport has its own array of shops and restaurants these days, all designed to make you feel like you are on holiday before you board your flight. The shops range from designer, like Gucci to high street like Boots.
Heathrow Airport is easy to get to via public transport.
The Piccadilly tube line is the most cost effective option, the extra stop taking passengers to terminal five means that all terminals are serviced by it.
Then there is the Heathrow Express for those of you in a hurry, it runs from London’s Paddington station every 15 minutes and only takes 15 minutes to get to Heathrow.
A slower and cheaper option from Paddington is the Heathrow Connect service, making up to five National Rail stations stops on the way.
If you are in less of a hurry and would like to save some money you could also consider National Express. The National Express offers hassle free coach travel direct to the heart of the terminal. They run hundreds of services each day, so you can sit back and relax while they get you to the airport on time.
British Airways flights still dominate Gatwick Airport jetting out of the West Sussex London hub to dozens of European and world destinations. So fancy flying away to Orlando in Florida, Palma de Mallorca, Bermuda or even Ibiza? BA also offers some less popular flights from Gatwick now such as those to Paphos, Dallas, Varna and Sarajevo.
London City Airport is the smaller of the airports and is at its busiest during the winter months. The airport has some smaller airlines operating out of it most notably Swiss International, Austrian, and City Jet. These airlines offer flights for the Londoner who wishes to fly to a ski resort for a winter break. Popular flights from London City Airport include Zurich, Geneva, Milan and Strasbourg all of which offer winter breaks.
London Gatwick has become budget airline easyJet’s second home as it flies out of both of Gatwick’s terminals to literally dozens of European and Eastern European destinations as well as to Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh. Monarch Airways and Thomsonfly also use Gatwick to fly holidaymakers off around the world in search of relaxation and warmer weather.
London Stansted is a large passenger airport and a hub for a number of major European low-cost airlines such as Ryanair, Air Lingus and easyJet. If you are looking for cheap flights to Ireland from London, you would be sure to find cheap flights from Stansted.
