About UTC Swindon

UTC Swindon will be opening its doors for the first time in September 2014 and its vision is to be a college where engineering and innovation can flourish.

It will cater for 600 14 to 19 year olds interested in pursuing a career in engineering. For these young people, it will provide a fantastic opportunity to gain highly desirable skills and raise their aspirations in progressing to careers in the engineering industry in all its diverse forms.

Year 10 and 12 students can take a respected, full time, technical course and complete core subjects at GCSE and A level in a state of the art £10 Million college on Bristol Street in the heart of Swindon.

UTC Swindon provides a fantastic oppurtunity to gain highly desirable skills, enjoy work experience and pursue a rewarding career in engineering.

The UTC Swindon curriculum

  • Students aged 14 to 16: 40% technical studies, 60% core subject
  • Students aged 16+: 60% Engineering, 40% other subjects including linked A level options

All students will have time for enrichment, physical, education, citizenship, career guidance and person, health and social education.

Work experience will involve extensive learning in the engineering sector.
